Caboolture Square is home to over 30 shops in downtown Caboolture, 50km north of Brisbane. In May
2018, over half a megawatt of solar panels were installed on the precinct’s roof. It is promising for Australia’s renewable energy future that large-scale (1 00kW+) solar installations like the above are now being approved to export electricity to the grid. Over the last decade, the increase electricity being fed into the grid meant that grid stability was getting compromised and commercial installations were usually excluded from exporting power. Now that the technology, infrastructure and local expertise are catching up, commercial solar is ready to roar from every rooftop.
