MacKillop Primary school Mackay
59.86kW
Mackillop Primary in Mackay provide a fully airconditioned learning environment for students. With high ambient temperatures throughout the year, power bills remained consistently high. The school also experienced extremely high peak demand charges through the summer months.
Mackillop Primary is one of the 44 installations GEM have completed for Catholic Education, Diocese of Rockhampton. An initial desktop review was followed by an on-site discussion with the principal and the diocese facilities manager and a detailed on-site electrical study. Our designs are then finalised based on our findings from the site inspection and feedback from the principal regarding the schools master plan and any future capital works.
Reduction in energy costs of over 60% and a substantial reduction in peak demand charges allowed for tariff optimization.
Payback of less than 3 years.
Reduction in grid consumption of 70% and 80 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
