Supplier Snapshot: Risen Energy
The Chinese solar manufacturer Risen Energy Co. began manufacturing solar panels in 2002 and is today valued at over AU$1 billion with a production capacity of over 800 MW per year.
The company is fully vertically integrated which means that all components for its products are manufactured in-house and fully automated production processes ensure the reduction of human error and output of consistently high-quality products, which is one part of achieving Tier 1 status.
Risen Energy’s sophisticated production facility features the best equipment from the United States and German suppliers.
Their products consistently rate highly in industry-wide solar panel performance tests. Risen Energy is involved in Research & Development (R&D), production, sales and service of solar modules and photovoltaic (PV) technology products as well as the development of residential, commercial and utility-scale solar PV projects all around the world.
In 2013, industry-wide performance testing of over 150 solar panels conducted by the prestigious Photon Lab in Germany, ranked Risen Energy’s solar panels 2nd and 6th overall with less than 1% deviation from the highest performing panel in the test.
Local support is available from Risen Energy Australia.
Product Snapshot
Main features of Risen Energy’s Solar Panels:
- Excellent module efficiency of up to 15.98 %. This means that the panels on your roof collect more power per square meter and you require less roof space.
- Positive power tolerance of -0/+3% which means that each 260-watt panel will be at least 260 watts; many cheaper panels have a negative tolerance so that you can end up getting less than what you paid for.
- Certified PID (Potential Induced Degradation) -free. This means that the panel is guaranteed to withstand the effects of corrosive elements like ammonia (NH3), hydrogen sulfide (HS) and sulfur dioxide (SO2) throughout its lifetime.
- Very low temperature coefficient (-0.39%) which means that the panel performs very well in higher temperatures and is suitable for our Queensland climate.

GEM Energy’s Evaluation
Since adding Risen Energy panels to our product mix in 2015, they have proven to be a genuinely excellent budget addition to our existing range of Q CELLS, Canadian Solar, REC and Phono Solar products.
While Risen Energy do not quite offer the production capability of those other more established brands, the margin is very small, and Risen panels perform over 10% better than other popular panels on the market.
We at GEM Energy rate Risen Energy solar panels as one of the top quality brands available in the premium budget sector in Australia. Risen Energy solar panels deliver excellent returns for your investment by offering great value for money at a very competitive price point.
